Memoir of a 'sha'mer holiday

Am at KLIA now sipping Starbucks. The man sitting opposite to me kept looking at me. Not in that kinda sense. He's probably wondering how am I getting online. There are two networks available for connection where one requires one to pay I think.

Anyway, I have had a very content break for the past month. (And, he's looking at me again while closing his lappy) Have had a very enjoyable time at home - got to spend time with Dad, Mom, bros, sis and cousin and everyone else I have met. More so my cute doggies at home. Can't get enough of them (except if Hazel keeps tounge-showering me).

(That man has zipped his laptop bag)

Going home every break is a very enjoyable and rewarding adventure, always. Don't think the homely feeling is gonna be replaceable. Just enjoy their presence and company. In my family you have got to have the spirit of working together to get things work. Well, you'll be pushed doing things anyway, if not nagged until you do.

Being able to get together every meal with my family is one of the most normal thing that happens - which is not to be taken for granted. Am afraid the chances of seeing them in the future are getting less with me opting to extend my second chapter of life in Australia. It's true I cry everytime they send me off at the airport. I am missing everyone at home!! Especially Tiong Teck - only got to spend a few days' time with him and he was sick in those few days. He spent more time in bed rather than talking to us.

Apart from that I also got to meet two of my very close friends in KL while I came to KL for my IELTS test. They were fabulous! Very regretfully the time we got to spend was too short. Moon, I look forward to hearing more of your stories and continuing our unfinished meals at Madam Kwan's!! And Edmund, it would be nice if we got to know those people that we saw on Starbucks SJ. Lucky you - I didn't get to see any of them clearly due to my position. Hahahaha

Shopping in KL - disappointingly rewarding and longing more for, as always. There's always fulfillment and disappointment in my shopping spree. There is always something that I couldn't get - mostly because of size. KL was starting its mid-year mega sales and there were people mountain people sea at Mid Valley Megamall.

I found a very nice jacket by Seed (my fav affordable yet stylish brand of clothing in Malaysia) and it was the only S on the shelf. I gotta put the blame of faith. I was also struggling between the Seed jacket and a G2000 jacket. When I ran between the two boutiques trying to get a feel of them, the Seed jacket was bought by someone else but me!! And it turned out that I liked the Seed jacket much more! Awwww...I was sulking in the car on the journey back to bro's apartment. Carefully I asked my cousin in law if we were going to pass Sunway Pyramid since there was a Seed boutique too. I was actually after another pair of pants that I saw on a man, which I failed to locate (while at Megamall) due to time. It was great that I found that pair of pants at Sunway but not the jacket (BOOOO!). Only L's were left.

And before I forget, I was grateful that my cousin had let me stayover at her place. Thank you to my cousin in law too, who had become our chaffeur.

Time has passed and I think I must go make a few phone calls before boarding the giant Malaysian kite to Melbourne.

that's wot they say when you put 2 & 4 together

Yay!! So happy - I got myself a birthday present that I had always always wanted! The FRIENDS 10-season DVD boxset! I made that wish last November. And and and I got it at a bargain. It was $333.99 before and I only paid $168....
Should really thank Aunty Shoba and Karine who took me out for lunch - otherwise I wouldn't have walked into JB Hifi and bought it. Yea it was quite an effort to buy the DVDs - been trying hard to bid it on eBay but I lost, EVERY SINGLE TIME. Hahaha... If it's not meant to be, it's not meant to be; that's wot they say.
Just wanna thank the people who sent me birthday cards from Sydney (WinWin), KL (Edmund), Ukraine (Siew Jing) and KL again (MOON). And other bunch of people who called and sms-ed.
Oh I'm so screwed for my exam on Tuesday...I am finishing my season 1 of the DVD. It's like 7 more to go (Yea I've watched seaons 9 and 10 a million times). Wish me luck.. It's not really unachievable - I scooped the who 9 series of the X-files during the last exam season.
Again, thanks everyone...

Don't you wish you hadn't eaten BEANS?

Famous Fart Food

The most famous farting food is the bean. What is it about these little things that cause such a stink? Beans contain sugars that we can't digest. When these sugars make it to our intestines, the bacteria go berserk, start feasting and make loads of gas. Other foods that are great for making you fart are broccoli, cabbage, raw apples, milk and raisins. So if your best friend has a broccoli and cabbage salad for lunch with an apple for recess and a big glass of milk - Don't sit too close on the bus ride home.

Now you know...

w0w!! there's something u don't c everyday

The 2 photos above were taken at Volkswagen's new storage facility in Wolfsburg, Germany. The actual space that the facility occupies is approximately only 20% of a comparable facility with the traditional design that is used primarily in the US. Not only is the German structure less expensive to build, but vehicles are also "retrieved" in less time and without the potential of being damaged by an attendant.

Collecting your new car is an event in itself. "In a fully automated procedure, your new car is brought down to you from one of the 20-story Car Towers. Large signboards in the Customer Center show you when your turn has come. Then, you're handed the keys, your picture is taken, the glass doors open and your brand-new car appears. You're all set to go".

Disneyland in (Johore) Malaysia?

Yea, unless it was just a rumour or the truth that has been rejected =P more comprehensive review here.

Stormy Apologies

I would like to apologise for being a biatch in my review for X-Men: The Last Stand, especially on Storm.

I just did some research and recall from the comic collections, that the fight between Storm and Callisto was in fact quite a defining moment in the X-Men history.

You see Callisto was far from as pretty as the character in the movie. She was one of the sewage people. Yes you heard me right. There are mutants who live in the sewage systems. I don't know why but they all looked very deformed physically. They are called the Morlocks.

What happened was that the Morlocks had captured the X-Men. Callisto, leader of the underground mutant camp, intended to marry Angel (the mutant who has wings). Kitty Pryde was dying, infected by a disease caused by one of the Morlocks. Storm went on to challenge Callisto in a hand-to-hand duel-to-the-death battle for the exchange of freedom of the fellow X-Men.

Ororo, who was still weak suffering the same disease, struggled in the batter. After being cut several tmes, she ensnared Callisto with her cape and stabbed her in the chest.

This intelligent blending, from comic to movie, also took part where Cyclops wasn't available to the team as the long-serving leader. And it was the first time Ororo ever killed. I was very shocked to see the change the battle had done to Storm. She was no longer the typical goddess with long-hair and long white soft dress. Instead, she became this punk woman with hair that grew only on the middle of her head and she was wearing tight leather jeans etc. Thereafter she became the leader of the X-Men for a period of time before Cyclops returned.

Her originally maternal-like bond with Kitty changed too, after the battle...even though they did make up after some serious misunderstandings.
