My side of "i'm not that innocent" - reflection from Denpasar, Bali

The very heated topic that is probably unaware to the wild/sexually-deprived/nothing-better-to-do BB housemates locked down in the perhaps only-too-accurately-named Dreamworld.

Despite quite a number of angry and also neutral-and-calm Australians, whether or not the Indonesian judges have done a competent job and more generally the underlying motivation of the incident - DRUG TRAFFICKING, the truth is still lurking somewhere in the dark.

I just would like to share a few points with my frens and family who frequent the airport, esply in this Thai-Indo-Malaysia-Filipine area, which portrays a certain level of uneasiness about their justice system.

First of all, avoid too many pieces of hand luggages that would require more attention on them. Those travelling alone should be more aware of this. Don't leave your lugggage out of sight. Having said that, bring them together with you no matter where you go, even into the loo. Now I am a bit worried about my sister who's gonna travel back to Malaysia alone in winter.

Padlock your hand luggages if you must carry them. This would mitigate the possibility of drugs being planted into your hand luggages. And be vigilant. Corby's reason for not realising the additional 4.1kg was the strap of her bag was broken and she had to drag it. Come on, 4.1kg is a lot! Almost 1.5 a normal asian newborn baby (perhaps 1 Ausssie newborn baby).

Watch out for weirdos or anyone that looks threathening. Even if you must fall asleep, do it after you get onto the plane! I dunno if I would help someone to watch over their stuffs..wot if they are never gonna come back and leave me in some deep shit!?

Sigh the world is so unsafe. The weight of a 4.1kg of marijuana compared to the weights of losing family, frens, precious time, future, greater good possibly done by anyone - everything is lost for a few hours (or more) of numbing one's brain cells. There used to be an ad on TV about saying no to drug focusing on youngsters..I hope it's played more often.

And if Corby is really really innocent, the one who planted the drug in her boardie bag - would you surrender yourself? A girl's future is gonna be buried alive now..Well who am I kidding - s/he wouldn't have planted the drug if s/he still had some good in him/her?

If the truth is that she is guilty (which is what I am inclined to think of, even though claims have been flying around saying the Indonesian justice systems haven't done any justice) 20 years is really too light a punishment. There is a Chinese saying - Kill One to Scare A Hundred - the meaning is literal, death sentence would be my choice if I had to make one.

One not really related point and a selfish one - it is not necessary to donate to someone who doesn't appreciate. When the blade of knife backstabs into you, you don't even get the chance to moan.

ummm......

Now, I am scared to go to those countries.....

I think the large media coverage on Corby's case is bad bad bad....it's bad because it puts people off....they won't go to those places...and the tourism industry will suffer in those places....which is obviously a detrimental outcome since many of those places rely heavily on tourism.
